The Principal, ASHOK MISRA comes from a renowned rug manufacturing family in Bhadohi, India, who has been producing rugs and different types of floor coverings in wool and cotton for U.S.A. and European countries. He was a primary constituent of the family business since 1971 (after finishing University) where he had been looking after the production and marketing of rugs. 

The incumbent has held the responsibility of producing rugs from initial stages of designing rugs, coloring the rugs, dyeing of colors, promoting weaving, quality control during weaving, final weaving inspection, inspection of washing, embossing, combing and, thereafter, absolute final inspection before dispatch to the port for exports to various countries.

He has been the main architect of developing and marketing the rugs and dhurries to different department stores and retailers in United States. The company had supplied to various stores of Federated, and Carter Hawley hale Groups – Bloomingdale’s, John Wanamaker’s, Woodward & Lothrop, Thalhimer’s, Rich’s, Burdines’, Carson Pirie Scott, Emporium Capwell (many of which have now changed hands) and other private retailers’ stores in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Georgia, Florida, Texas, California, Oregon, Illinois, etc..

ASHOK MISRA being a part of the Rug Producing Industry in India and in direct involvement of all spheres of rug manufacturing business since 1971 (35 years) has vast experience of the business in the Industry.

In year 2002 ASHOK MISRA started furniture manufacturing and exports and continuously providing high quality HARDWOOD Furnitures to the world market with the name of SDO FURNITURES.
